“Empire” stars Jussie Smollett and Yazz The Greatest (Bryshere Y. Gray) performed “You’re So Beautiful” on “Good Morning America” on Tuesday. Watch below!
As Gossip Cop has reported, on “Empire” Smollett and Yazz play Jamal and Hakeem, the middle and third sons of mega star and Empire Records owner Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) and his fiery ex-wife Cookie (Taraji P. Henson). When the breakout first season ended in March, Smollett’s Jamal had been selected by their father to take over the company as Yazz’s Hakeem worked on his rap career. “You’re So Beautiful,” which premiered on “Empire” earlier this year and is featured on the deluxe version of the hit Fox show’s soundtrack, was co-written by Smolett.
The “GMA” performance comes one day after Fox revealed the second season of “Empire” will premiere in the fall with a larger episode order than the inaugural season. The series will also have a new round of celebrity guest stars, including Alicia Keys, Chris Rock, and Lenny Kravitz. And just last week, as Gossip Cop reported, “Empire” was nominated for a Critics’ Choice Television Award. Henson was also nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series.
